Linda's right about the self-defense stuff being kinda sketch for older people, but this video isn't really for that. It's more about the OG Renzo attitude than actual techniques. My coaches don't ever run specific self-defense scenarios, but they'll talk about keeping distance, getting to the clinch, and controlling posture if we're drilling standing. The first time I competed was the IBJJF Pan Kids in 2017, and even back then, if you didn't have a plan for getting to a takedown or guard pull, you were getting smashed. These old videos are cool for the history, but they don't really reflect what competitive BJJ looks like now.
