2026 Brasileiro Black Belt Preview | Female Divisions

The 107lb division features Mayssa Bastos of AOJ, ranked #3 globally per IBJJF as of April 29, 2026. Bastos is a six-time World Champion and four-time Brasileiro Champion. Thaís Loureiro of Mekka Jiu-Jitsu holds the #2 seed, a former No-Gi World Champion and current European Champion. Loureiro defeated Bastos in the European Championship final. Jessica Caroline, a former Pan and European Champion, is the #3 seed. Gabrielle Etzel, Julia Lima, and Roberto Medeiros are also in the division.

Ashlee Funegra will compete in the 118lb division with an undefeated black belt record, having secured Pan and European titles in 2026. Maria Luiza of JFC Almeida, a former Pan and Brasileiro Champion, is the #2 seed. Andressa Guirau, a former World silver medalist and Brasileiro bronze medalist, is the #3 seed. Vitoria Assis, a 2023 No-Gi Brasileiro Champion, has three major gi podium finishes and is slated for a potential second-round match against Funegra.

Mia Funegra, the youngest female World Champion in history, returns to Grand Slam competition in the 129lb featherweight division. Mia Funegra is undefeated at black belt level, with her World title secured in 2025 at light-featherweight. Gabriela Pereira of Brothers Club, a former Brasileiro and World bronze medalist, is the #2 seed. Keanna Klay of Gracie Barra earned a bronze medal at Pans in her rookie black belt campaign. Giovanah Oliveira of JFC Almeida earned a bronze medal at the No-Gi World Championships in December.

Sarah Galvão, a nineteen-year-old competitor, has earned three titles through two major events in 2026, including a double-gold performance at Pans. Vitoria Vieira of GF Team, a former Brasileiro Champion in both gi and no-gi, and 2025 Worlds bronze medalist, is also in the lightweight division. Stephanie Delphine, Randryely Souza, Patricia Pacheco, Lina Grosset, and Thamyres Tavares are additional competitors.

Elisabeth Clay of Six Blades Jiu-Jitsu is the top seed in the middleweight division. Clay is a six-time No-Gi World Champion and the reigning Brasileiro middleweight champion. She earned a Pan silver medal in her last outing. Larissa Martins of DreamArt, the 2024 World silver medalist, secured the European Championship title in January. Lillian Marchand of Atos Jiu-Jitsu, the reigning lightweight No-Gi World Champion and Pan middleweight champion, is also competing. Gisele Menezes, Alexia Arantes, and Ana Beatriz complete the division.

Maria ‘Maca’ Vicentini is the top seed in the medium-heavyweight division and the reigning Brasileiro Champion in the weight class. Vicentini has earned a European bronze and Pan silver medal in 2026. Ingridd Alves of BJJ College, a former European and Pan Champion, World silver medalist, and Brasileiro bronze medalist, earned a European silver medal earlier this year. Sabatha Lais of Fratres BJJ, a three-time Brasileiro Champion, European Champion, and World bronze medalist, is also in the division. Giovanna Carneiro of GF Team, the 2024 No-Gi Brasileiro Champion and a 2025 Brasileiro gi bronze medalist, is another competitor.
